Hospital & health system IT

Enable Americano Health on Epic MyChart

For Epic community members (health system IT): download our production Client ID so patients at your organization can connect their MyChart records to Americano Health.

Security note

  • Client ID and Application ID are public identifiers for OAuth public (PKCE) apps. Publishing them on this page is expected and does not grant access to patient data.
  • Americano Health does not use a shared client secret for patient connections. Never ask us for AWS credentials, client secrets, or API keys on this workflow.
  • Patient data access still requires each patient to sign in to their own portal and authorize the connection.

Before you start

  • Your organization must have signed the open.epic API Subscription Agreement (one-time per organization).
  • A staff member with the Epic security point Able to Purchase Apps? must perform the download.
  • If your organization uses automatic USCDI client distribution, our Client ID may already be syncing — check your Downloads page first.

Download steps (manual client record)

  1. Sign in to open.epic.com with a user who has Purchase Apps access.
  2. Go to Downloads (or search for apps by Client ID).
  3. Enter the Production Client ID above and search for Americano Health.
  4. Review the app summary, data use questionnaire, and requested FHIR APIs.
  5. Complete the download / approval. Sync to your Epic instances may take up to 12 hours.
  6. Confirm the app appears on your Downloads page with an approved status before directing patients to connect in the Americano Health mobile app.

About the integration

  • App type: Patient-facing, read-only SMART on FHIR (USCDI-aligned).
  • Authentication: Public client with PKCE (no shared client secret).
  • Patient authorization: Each patient signs in with their own MyChart credentials and consents to scopes shown in the OAuth screen.
  • Privacy policy: https://americanohealth.com/privacy · Terms: https://americanohealth.com/terms
